I believe that you are asking if debt consolidation is good for people with bad credit. I would recommend that a person with bad credit check out the free government services to learn how to modify their spending habits before doing a debt consolidation. Historically, if one consolidates debt it frees up the available credit on credit cards making it very easy to go even further into debt with new spending. Only after learning how to control spending would debt consolidation be a valid way to help trim monthly payments. One would also have to reduce their ability to add to their debt by closing all but one credit account. One is necessary to maintain a credit rating in case of a critical need. This is my observation and I’ve not done research on it beyond personal experience.
